Car Insurance

Car Insurance. So you're having a mid-life crisis and have somehow come to own a fast, expensive, sleek, red convertible. Now you need to insure it. Here are some guidelines when considering car insurance:
  • Car Insurance: Basic Auto Policy: Coverages

The basic auto policy may include six coverages for your car insurance: Bodily Injury Liability - applies to injuries that you, the designated driver or policyholder, cause to someone else; Medical Payments or Personal Injury Protection (PIP) - pays for the treatment of injuries to the driver and passengers of the policyholder's car; Property Damage Liability - pays for damage you (or someone driving the car with your permission) may cause to someone else's property; Collision - pays for damage to your car resulting from a collision with another car, object or as a result of flipping over; Comprehensive - reimburses you for loss due to theft or damage caused by something other than a collision with another car or object, or if your windshield is cracked or shattered; and, Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage - reimburse you, a member of your family, or a designated driver if one of you is hit by an uninsured or hit-and-run driver.

Each car insurance policy is priced separately. If you want to go the Internet route, some car insurance agencies offer discounts for signing up online. Online car insurance can be a hassle free method of securing coverage for your vehicle. This can be a significant saving if you're insuring an expensive car, but remember to read the insurance policy very carefully before you start handing out your credit card details. If you're financing a car, your lender may also have requirements. We hope that this has illuminated several key issues when sourcing the best car insurance for you.
